Caffeine Against Depression

A research that was made on 250 women in United States has proven , that level of estrogen changes when you ingest caffeine. The research, which lasted ten years, has shown that women who ingest more caffeine are less likely to be depressed.
American Journal of Clinical Nutrition published this research based on the study of 250 women through two menstrual cycles and found out that caffeine changes the level of estrogen, but with a different effect based on race. They consumed 90 milligrams of caffeine, equivalent to one cup of coffee.
In Asians, that drank more then average intake of caffeine (200 milligrams), the level of estrogen increased, which is similar to black participants. Effect was exactly the opposite at white participants. Estrogen level decreased significantly with increasing caffeine.
The good news is that the changes have no significant effect on healthy women. Caffeine still has many positive effects.
